A Converged Internet Protocol (IP) solution delivering voice, Internet, business systems and video across a single fully managed infrastructure.

Background

Catering for the high-end hospitality market, Amanyara Resort is set on the Northwest Point of Providenciales, one of the beautiful Turks & Caicos Islands, 575 miles south of Miami. Comprised of 40 guest pavilions and 33 multi-bedroom villas, the resort promotes tranquillity and exceptional service to its exclusive clientele.

Requirement

Michel Neutelings, COO of the development, says, “We have created one of the most prestigious resorts in the Caribbean. As such it is essential, despite our remote and secluded location, that we have a state-of-the-art, IT and communications system we can rely on.”
The vision was to build a technology platform catering for the requirements of a very demanding and well-travelled clientele – now and in the foreseeable future. It was also crucial that guests did not suffer from any of the technical nuisances typical of many resorts.
Moreover, to preserve the strict minimalist style adopted throughout Amanyara by the architects and interior designers, the developers required that all IT devices blend seamlessly with their environment.

They required communication facilities that were:

DXI advised the client how to realise their vision by optimising products from market leaders and industry innovators to provide a truly cohesive end-to-end solution. To make this possible DXI took total responsibility for design, deployment, implementation and ongoing 24x7 monitoring and management of the Amanyara IT infrastructure.

As a result, the resort now boasts an ‘industry first’ free telephony and internet service for all guests using a fully converged voice, Internet, data and video system to service guest areas and both front and back-of-house.
